HAHA! I found possibly the best music video ever on YouTube!

Well... next to VOTA's new video.
Anyway... this is Rapture Ruckus, baby (he seriously makes sure he says that every other song on my live CD. XD).
I apologize about the quality... the best quality is on the Live at World's End DVD... but at least you get to hear the studio recording! The words are much easier to make out than on the live recording I have... it's frustrating, but I still love it.

I can't believe I missed his North American tour. :( He rocks! I also wish I had the lyrics... does he ever release lyrics, Smitty? I have no idea...

And in case you're wondering, the song ("Lose Control") is about setting up a live show... soundcheck, heading backstage, drawing up the setlist... it's cool, actually.
But it's my favorite. Maybe because of the tune... it's unique-sounding. :)
And as for liking the video... maybe it's the way he moves, dances... what? It's entertaining. He bends all the way over during the chorus of the live version! Like, in half! XD
Remember, the video starts with Brad (RR's real name. ;) ) cockin' his head... so let's all cock our heads... XD

Can you tell I miss the nb's "old flavor?" I'm listening to Kiwi rap, of course I miss it! :P
But RR is a flavor within himself... his live performance is nothing short of exhilerating and amazing (Live at World's End DVD. ;) )... and Smitty even said they pulled a nb stunt this year at Parachute. :)

Saturn Has A Ring Around It...

Many moons know this to be true!

Yes, netsirK, I know you don't think much of "Saturn," but I think it's growing on me. XD Anyone have 44 cents to put on my iTunes account? Anyone? JUST 44 CENTS!! XD I want it!!

I mean, how could you not love lyrics like...

And the video... is really pretty... ish. :) the way Cooper looks in this video makes me associate "Saturn" with the first episodes of Bibleman... what? Can I help that with that haircut and those glasses, he looks like Willie Aames?

Well, no matter what you think, I like it. Yes, the lyrics don't match their lips for the majority of the video. :( It kinda bothers me, but what can I do about it?

And what makes the song really pretty is how Cooper sings it, with this high voice I never thought any man, let alone John Cooper, could have accomplished.
It just gives the song this sort of... sentimentality, if you will.

Oh, yes! One more thing.

I know, it isn't clear. It's the amazing lop-sided school bus!! The wheels are level with the ground, but the chassis (or shell, or whatever the 'eck it's called) isn't!!

Don't be frightened or confused when watching this video... this IS Skillet! Just... old-school Skillet. Back when Cooper's voice was noticeably higher. He doesn't have the grit in his vocals just yet... back in '96. :P

"Gasoline," so far, is my favorite off their self-titled album.
Yup. That's the cover. A skillet. "We... were... named... after a frying pan."
:P

The one thing I love about the song itself is that weird sound that I think John is making around the beginning and in some other parts of the song. What? I like it.
As for the video, the camera just does not give Cooper any time with it! Like, maybe a second or two, with the rapidly changing frames, and the strobe it looks like they're using... well, it just makes it look more fast-paced.

But I love the video.

This is my all-time favorite Skillet podcast -- this is the one where I got the John Reuben-bathroom thing in the previous blog. XD And how nice, John even introduces himself for all who don't know. XD

It's kinda sad, since most of the podcasts only feature Ben and Jen (Ben Kasica (sp, netsirK?) and Jen Ledger), and each time, I'm like, "WHERE IS JOHN?!?!?!"

Because John rocks. Like, out loud.

Today was interesting.
I had a headache most of the morning. The crying I did didn't help, either (don't worry -- they wuz happy tears. :D :D).
I couldn't stop coughing at some points, and THAT is annoying. It made me mad. But it was fine.

Youth Group? Oh, that was great. We pelted Rusty with paper balls! XD XD XD CJ chased after people with a pole! XD XD XD

Mates, you won't believe what I saw this morning.

So, I went to church, right? And I sat there, in my usual spot, minding my own business... suddenly, Rusty walks in, and I get the shock of my life.

HE'S DRESSED UP!

This man is NEVER dressed up! But today, he was!! It was almost creepy! He's always so casual. Cargo shorts, t-shirt, and flip-flops. TODAY, he wore a buttoned shirt, LONG pants... and I didn't get a glimpse of his shoes, but I'm sure they weren't flip-flops!
It was shocking. I did not expect that. (nb references! XD XD)

Now I realize almost all who view this blog have heard the song playing on this vid.
But you, Verja, have not.
Therefore, I urge you to view it.

Okay, now I debrief you about my youth group last night.

Dude, that was a lot better than I thought.
First, one of the songs that plays before the service begins was "The One Thing." A PAULIPOPS song! I never imagined...

Anyway.
The service itself was GREAT. We talked about Communion.
And we saw this video... I hated it. Not because it was bad, but because we do it so often. This dude was talking with Jesus, and he seemed so busy. Near the end, he accepts this invitation to this party, and he keeps telling Jesus to stay, but He won't back down. Then the dude starts getting hostile, which rips my heart in two. The video ends with the dude slamming his fists into His hands, and He looks like He's been nailed to the Cross all over again. "The Killing Tree" came to mind... I was so appalled.
Do I really treat Him like that??
It genuinely broke my heart.

And even though I had searched my heart, I still felt so incredibly unworthy, and I didn't want to partake in Communion. I couldn't. It hurt. :(

So yes, the service turned out wonderfully.
But right after, it took a turn.

Our adult congregation had a business meeting. At first, I took up that time to dance, sing and worship, like I love to do, but never get the genuine chance to do.
But for some reason, I got bored with that. And I didn't want to seem lost, so I hung around my grandparents' vehicle.

That was when I started getting irritated. I sat outside for an HOUR. I don't even think they were doing a business meeting, but a whole other service altogether! That made me angrier, and it didn't help my headache. I was so grateful when they came out.

So, yeah.

Youth Group!

I went to Youth Group. Again. Ah, it was great.

Rusty (about another youth): "Yeah, she likes to hide from me."
Me: "Don't we all."
He proceeded to give me a strange look, and I burst into laughter. Yeah, it was great.

Then, I felt kinda left out again, so I exited, sat in my favorite spot, and listened to Peter's Testimony from Houston, and part of it from Milwaukee... man, the thing about Congress was pretty funny, even though it wasn't meant to be. :P :P

Then we went inside and ate a cookie cake. Cookie cakes are the best cakes ever! XD

And I'm currently hooked on this song:

Happy birthday, dude! Hope you spent time with your family. LOTS of time with your family. Wherever you're living now. :P

I guess you figured out that I miss Jody terribly. Can I help his gentle demeanor?? And his impressive singing talent? And his super-impressive guitar skills?

If Jody never existed, I think I'd still be irked at Rusty... "Bleed" (clicky for lyrics) has helped me through quite a bit of forgiveness problems... and other problems, seeing as the song asks why we have to suffer. I think what gives me peace is the fact that I know the answer.

And that's why Jody is special to me. He rocks. :D

I gives you a synopsis.
This will be of great interest to anyone who can't see the vid.

The FIRST thing you will notice is that Duncan and Pauly are in the shower, or in a locker room. How does one notice this??
There's water falling on Paul, and he's very, very wet. :p
Duncan, on the other hand, is only slightly wet.

And he has a secret for us. Maybe Paul, too.
He says that his favorite festival is Creation.
"Creation East, Creation West, it's the best!!"
Paul immediately pipes up, with...
"That rhymes!"
XD

And Dunny thinks it's hilarious, too.
"That's right!" He replies between his chuckles. Then, he adds, "Hey, that was good!"
Then Dunny turns back to us as Paul replies something unintelligible, and tells us the guys have been playing Creation since 1989.
"And you know what? There was a couple of years that we couldn't play, and I was just trying to remember the first year..."
Pauly interrupts him with the answer. Rather abruptly, I might add.
"1995!"
"Was it?" Dunny asks.
"1995 was the first year newsboys didn't play, due to a washout. Rain." Paul replies matter-of-factly. Duncan piggy-backs off this information.

"1995, and then the second year, we couldn't play --"
"2006!" Paul interrupts again.
"Mate!" Duncan is astounded. Then, they say "2006!" silmoultaneously.
"We couldn't play," Dunny continues, "because one other year, we had to play at Hershey Park --"
"2003!"
Duncan repeats what his colleague blurted out.

"But anyway, wanted to let you know that we're absolutely ecstatic to be here, we got a new record out, called GO, and we're gonna be playing a lot of the songs, probably most of the songs off the record at Creation East this year, so... absolutely excited all about that, but... you know what, Paul?"
Dunny turns to Paul yet again.
"I think it's time, right now, for you to take us out, with something they might expect to hear at Creation."

So Pauly leans back and allows the water falling on top of him to enter his mouth, and he starts gurgling the tune to "Shine" in his mouth, ending it with the simulation of an explosion, spitting the water out of his mouth.
"Hopefully, it's NOTHING like that."
Then, Paul and Dunny do a knuckle-touch, and start laughing, as the video fades out.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...

It's hilarious.
Colpa still has his sense of humor. Even as a security guard. And when hitting a golf ball into a lake, strumming a guitar, catching a fish, on the cell phone... the man will do anything.

And, in case you're interested, the song playing in the background is a PC3 song called "Big Boy," as often mentioned in the lyrics played. If you want the album with that song on it, good luck! You'll need it.
See, it's not an American album, it's Aussie. The album has to be imported. Which is annoying, cuz I really, really like that song...

RANDOM TOPIC #1:

I accompanied my mother doing some errands today. We were playing Tac's (tobyMac) album Portable Sounds... or, to be a little more specific, "Boomin'." That song rocks. Literally. Anyways, so we heard to the whole thing, which includes something called "Opera Trip," after the song is done. It consists of Mandisa trying to sing opera... and let me just say, it was VERY SHOCKING. Or traumatizing, whichever you prefer.

My mom: She sings pretty good.
Me: Not when she's doing opera!!

So, yeah.

RANDOM TOPIC #2:

Y'know, I think this topic is gonna make some of Phika's friends hate me, so here goes nothing...

I detest Miley Cyrus.

No, no, let me rephrase that... I detest that she doesn't let her Christianity show... and the day she writes Christian songs, perhaps I'll start listening to her. One thing she's done recently (and some of the things on recent airings of her TV show...) makes me connect all that, with a new song I recently listened to... "Selfish Song," by the Paul Colman Trio.

I'm remembering all of my good times on YouTube now... like this vid...



This song rocks. John Reuben rocks, too. My mom makes fun of the way he dances. It's both funny and mind-bendingly awkward, creepy, and disturbing.
But the fact that they're playing what appears to be an extreme version duck-duck-goose is pretty weird, but something I'd totally expect from Reuben.

RANDOM TOPIC #4:

Uhh... hmm...

Have you seen any of the newsboys podcasts? They're hosted by Colpa, which means they're pretty much hilarious. One of my favorites isn't all that funny, but it's pretty cool... Podcast 6. The guys were visiting an orphanage in Uganda... they were having a blast, too. I especially liked the part where Furpe was playing around with this cute Ugandan baby (I wish they could've got a better view of her, but we only see her from the back. Bummer), by pulling his day job: making faces to entertain peeps like me, who is FAR too easy to entertain. Go figure.
