RSL 1984

Oh. Hai. :)
I am here... to state my views on the only song I have from ITHOG at the moment...
RSL 1984. :)

So... where do I begin?
It's beauty. Pure beauty.
You can definitely tell this song refers to the military... Aussie military, in this case.
The pride is unmistakable... say what you want, but I believe that's what makes this song beautiful.
"Grant me another day..."
I don't know the whole lyrics, bare with me. :P
Anyway...
I won't lie, the song is sad, too. Especially with the circumstances... but it's obvious why Tait will NEVER be able to do this song, period.
It's too bad Duncan hasn't sung in over a decade... ;) Because he's the only newsboy that would ever be qualified now to come even close to playing this song...

*ahem* I can't stay on that subject.
Now I need a photo to end this post on a lighter note...

Hmm...

:)

So... I've been listening to one song in particular lately... not sure why. But I LOVE singing it! Stop me if you've heard it before...

SAVIOR,
HE CAN MOVE THE MOUNTAINS,
MY GOD IS MIGHTY TO SAVE!
HE IS MIGHTY TO SAVE!

FOREVER,
AUTHOR OF SALVATION,
HE ROSE AND CONQUERED THE GRAVE!
JESUS CONQUERED THE GRAVE!

Your assignment is to guess the original artist. No, it's not Michael W. Smith.
Smitty is exempt because she knows. ;)

I bought the live version (by the ORIGINAL artist) on iTunes on Valentine's Day, because I don't like MWS' version too much. :P
But I LOVE this version... a lot.

I guess I've been liking it a lot because... well, it reminds me just Who is in control. ;)

Another question: what do you guys think of "Mighty to Save?"

P.S... please comment on my last bloggy post. ;)

Random Stuff

Oh my good gosh, it's a video!

... what?

You've never heard of B. Reith?
DUDE!
You've seriously missed out!

B. Reith can flow! AND SING! XD
It's kinda like a mix between KJ-52 (the mispronouncing name and mistaken for Ashton Kutcher thing) and tobyMac (rapping and singing)... and then again, it kinda isn't.

Make sense?
Didn't think so.

Now I want Go On. That's the name of the song in that video up there, in case you didn't realize. :)
Skittles bought it, but she can't send it to me. *sadness and anger and withdrawal*

Yeah. :(

Saturn Has A Ring Around It...

Many moons know this to be true!

Yes, netsirK, I know you don't think much of "Saturn," but I think it's growing on me. XD Anyone have 44 cents to put on my iTunes account? Anyone? JUST 44 CENTS!! XD I want it!!

I mean, how could you not love lyrics like...

Heaven has a ring around you,
The angels sing a song over you,
Heaven has a ring around you,
If you don't see it, know that it's true!

:)

And the video... is really pretty... ish. :) the way Cooper looks in this video makes me associate "Saturn" with the first episodes of Bibleman... what? Can I help that with that haircut and those glasses, he looks like Willie Aames?

See for yourself. Except for netsirK. She showed it to meh in the first place.

Well, no matter what you think, I like it. Yes, the lyrics don't match their lips for the majority of the video. :( It kinda bothers me, but what can I do about it?

And what makes the song really pretty is how Cooper sings it, with this high voice I never thought any man, let alone John Cooper, could have accomplished.
It just gives the song this sort of... sentimentality, if you will.

Oh, yes! One more thing.

I know, it isn't clear. It's the amazing lop-sided school bus!! The wheels are level with the ground, but the chassis (or shell, or whatever the 'eck it's called) isn't!!

And thus, I close.

Titles are Overrated...

Hai all. Sorry, I hasn't blogged in... 48 hours. :P
I make it up to you!

Remember ol' Speedster? Well, this is him. :D He's so old... and so made by Ford...

Last night, I found Rusty at work. :P He works at a music store, just so y'all know. One right next to Pizza Hut. XD
So we intruded on him, and we got some guitar picks for Dad, which we'll tell him cost $125. XD Gotsa love ol' Rustin.

Anyway. This is something I wantza do because Soul Skittles did it. My current favorite songies:

Not What You See -- Kutless
Collide -- Skillet
Savior -- Skillet
Fingernails -- Skillet
Cycle Down -- Skillet
EVERY SINGLE THING OFF SKILLET'S COMATOSE CD. XD
Closer -- Jars of Clay
Shout -- Phil Joel
Banquet Table (Parts 1, 2 and 3) -- Paul Colman Trio
Irene -- tobyMac
What's Goin' Down -- tobyMac
Get This Party Started -- tobyMac
By Your Side -- Tenth Avenue North
In The Hands of God -- newsboys

Yeah. :)

FMC and other stuff

Hai.
I know the name "Paul Colman" is a sensitive string to some of y'all right now. I'm hoping it isn't, but I've had this blog idea on my mind for a while.

All of you, hopefully, have heard "Fill My Cup," a classic PC3 song we heard on New Map Of The World and on radio stations in various places.
But... for most of you, I believe, this is the only version you've heard. I've heard a different version, one that plays in Aussie and New Zealand... and the lyrics are quite different.

For instance -- the first verse after the chorus for us:

Called on You lately,
Come on and rescue me,
I feel like a calender from another year.
This barren ground,
These bones are dry and ready.
I break bread and wine, but still I'm feelin' so empty.

And the "Aussie" version:

Come on You lately,
Come on and rescue me.
Been at You lately,
But I've been more at me.
Love is a lesson I never learned in school.
Sick in bed that day,
And so I play Your fool.

The chorus has no change, in case you wanna know. ;)

And the second verse. The "American" version:

Sick of this seesaw
Of going up and down,
I see the rescue,
But would I rather drown?
Love is a lesson I never learned in school,
I was sick in bed that day,
And so I played a fool.

And the "Aussie" second verse:

Sick of this seesaw
Of going up and down,
Promised consistency to You in my wedding vow,
Call me up, whisper in my ear,
I feel like a calender
From another year.

And the "Aussie" version also has a third verse that the "American" version lacks. And it's my favorite:

Talk to me without manipulation,
Shoot from your hip,
You'll shock the congregation,
Wake me up whenever supper's ready,
Break bread and wine, but still I'm feelin' empty.

And then... there was this little thing I saw on Paul's website. This verse isn't on the recording I have, and now I want it. :P But I think it replaces our "American" version's bridge... which would be:

I feel like (or light. It says both. ;) ) I could float right up to You
Like a bridge that's connectin' the water.

The verse I found... it says this:

I feel light I could float up to you weights and all
I feel like a bridge on the water connecting your shore
Start me up and let me fly with you
This barren ground these bones are dry and empty.

Yeah.

But now, back to the awesomeness of Jody returning. :D
It seems as though some of you have not been fans long enough to truly appreciate Jody. But then again, I should keep my mouth shut, seeing as I became a fan two years ago.
But then again, I've seen Jody on ONIP and RRHOF and his interviews on the latter and immediately knew of his awesomeness. :) He talked about poor Bethany, which was definitely bittersweet.

And all this talk of Jody reminds me of a certain caption on JfH...

And the winning caption? Can anyone guess it??

"A cold sweat ran down Bryan's back. Jody Davis had returned and he wanted back in the band!"

:D It's coming true! But replace Bryan's name with Pauly. And the photo with this one:

"Who's leaving the band?? YOU ARE!"
*sniffle* "W-w-what??" *cries*

XD

Adoration -- the Christmas Eve Tidings

Hai, all.
It's Christmas Eve. Has it been as strange-feeling for y'all as it has been for me? This year doesn't really feel like Christmas, and yet, here we are.
Boy, 2008 has flown by fast!
This is one of my favorite years to date -- all of my internet friends, I met this year. Which is pretty amazing, if you ask me. :P

But that's not what I wanted to talk about.
What I wanted to talk about was that famed Christmas song we all know... "Adoration."
I'll tell you right now, I love this song. A lot.

You know the lyrics to it, right? I sure do.
And my favorite part has to be some of the best lyrics I've ever seen. Look --

He raises a wrinkled hand
Through the dust and the flies,
Wrapped in rags like we are,
And with barely open eyes,
He takes my finger,
And He won't let go, and He won't let go.
It's nothing like I knew before,
And it's all I need to know.

My highlight of my favorite part (:P) is in bold. :)
And here --

Jesus, our Emmanuel,
He's with us here, and He won't let go!

:D
Imagery like that makes my heart happy.

Don't you agree?

OGC! OGC! OCG!

I'm so happy!!!!

Peter! Was on KLove! He debuted "In The Hands of God!" He lost his voice for three days after he sang the whole thing (XD I think he was kidding, I certainly hope he was!)! Everyone who's heard it loves it! INCLUDING ME!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Joy abounds.
"You're amazing! You're amazing! You're amazing, You are!"
That's the bridge of the song. :D

I can't remember all the lyrics now (I SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN THEM DOWN!!!), but I do remember the bridge, and some of the chorus.

"In the hands of God, we stand tall..."

Yeah, I don't remember much. BUT I LOVE IT SOOOOOO MUCH!!
And why can't they release it sooner?? Pete said May... I'm hoping Paul's album in January will fill the void as we wait for this AWESOME song and its counterparts. :)

Open Wounds

All of you who seem to have something against JOC, I'll talk to y'all later.

Right now, I wanna point out something.

netsirK sent me a Skillet song called "Open Wounds." Now, this song rocks. A lot. And I looked at the album review on JfH for the album it's on (Collide), and whoever reviewed it (DiBiase? Can someone see? My school blocks JfH) said this song didn't have any spiritual meaning; it just addressed John Cooper's (for all non-panheads, that's Skillet's frontman) estranged relationship with his father.

Well. I beg to differ.
JfH does have a reputation for being wrong in some places. This is one of those places.

I found a spiritual story here. Think about what I'm gonna say, I implore you.
In my mind, this song is [still] about an estranged father and son... but the father is God. In my mind, the "son" has become angry with God and keeps blaming Him for everything, and he's convinced that God hates him and He can't do anything to stop his pain. And God puts up an interesting arguement... "How could you love Me/when all you ever gave Me/were open wounds."
And by that, I mean that God is likely implying the "son" has always been this way, and all he keeps doing is adding to Christ's scars ("open wounds").

Have you ever thought of it that way, netsirK?

I was shocked when JfH said something like that. Goes to show you can find a spiritual message in any song.

It's So Hard To Believe...

It's so hard to believe,
You're here with me now,
Makes me feel so alive,
I got to let it out!
Extraordinary,
You're bringing me out,
Fill my heart with Your love,
And turn my world around!

I TOTALLY fell in love with this song. I heard it on KLove one night, recognized Bryan Olesen's voice (from when I first heard "Alright"), and said, "I knew it! It's by VOTA!"

I like this name better than Casting Pearls. Less conflict with the overrated Casting Crowns. XP VOTA is quite the opposite! I wanna hear more of VOTA! WHOO!

*ahem* ANYWAY! I wanna show y'all something, tell me what you think -- CLICK HUR. XD And yes, this was my post.

Boomwhackers! I used those in elementary school. I love those colored tubes. XD

And I couldn't resist -- Lizzie, you set me up for something! XD

Alright, I'm done... netsirK, you missed a post!

We Interrupt this Wednesday to bring you...

... the news that I can't stop listening to "Shout." XD It's an addicting song!! It was worth the $0.99 I paid for it... even if I might have had no need to do so (Whoops. XD)

But I can't find any lyrics! I've caught some of the lyrics (definitely the chorus and the prechorus), but some are hard to tell. If someone can find the lyrics to the songs on The New Normal, please tell me. I don't wanna have to buy the CD just for lyrics. That'd be sort of a waste.

This song seriously rocks. I think this is Phil's new "signature" song in my mind now (It used to be "God Is Watching Over You," but not anymore!!). I wish Phil had made this song longer than two minutes and 33 seconds. It's one of the shortest songs I have on Squizzy! Shame. :(

You may now return to your regularly scheduled Wednesday.

Serious Fun

Oh, hai.
Guess what I'm gonna talk about?

That's right! That CD Hannah gave me. :D

It has the BEST song ever on it. It's hilarious!
Who's a big boy? Me, me, I'm a big boy!
Now I'm wondering if Paul feels the same about this song as Peter does about the first three newsboys albums. Hmm...

Remember the video I talked about HERE? And how I said I wanted the song that played in the background?
Well, I have it now. :D So do netsirK and Soul Skittles. I sent 'em the song, which I JUST found out that I could do.

Now that I have the full song, I gotta say, the chorus (not to mention the way it's sung) is very catchy:

No more lies and no manipulation (the last chorus, they mispronounce "manupulation." Or should I say, "manipoolation" XD)
No more avoiding all responsibilities
Well you know it's time
That you change the situation
'Cause we all wanna sleep tonight.

Super-hilarious.
So what is the song about?

Well, it takes a jab at "our" generation. The kids (and adults alike) who are spoiled, have everything waiting on them hand and foot, don't know what it is to put in a "hard day's work." Won't take responstibility for anything they do... you get the idea. It makes fun of them. And it's truly the funniest thing.

So, yeah! Kewl song! Even Pauly agrees!

"Radiator"

Hai.
Have y'all heard the "new" FF5 song "Radiator?" Have ya?
Sweet.
Well, guess what?
They released a video for it today! Dude, I've only seen like 51 seconds of it right now, but it rocks. :D I even took a couple of screenshots courtesy of GIMP. ;)

To start off -- the name of the song! Doesn't it look cool?

And here they come! The Fivers!!!!!!

I have to admit, the video's pretty dark. And it kinda makes Soul Glow look... I dunno, creepy? XD

SEE WHAT I MEAN?!?! XD XD Does that not look CREEEEPY?! XD
"Do you want to plaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy?" XD

Even Nadaddy is following suit! Don't do it, Nafather! The world needs you and your sidekick Chapstique! XD

He's armed with his fist. I wouldn't suggest making him any angrier than he already looks. XD

Meanwhile, SGA has gone from creepy to apelike. XD What else be new?

"Radiate like transparency..." Dude, I love this shot. Isn't it awesome?? XD

Wow. Who's this? Phatty (whom I haven't seen very well in this vid)? SG? Who knows.

Go, Chappy. "WE ARE THE CHOSEN NATION!!!!!!"

And not one to be a party pooper, SGA joins in, too.

Nice shot of Crouton and his drumkit, huh? And it's so wonderfully complemented by the neon "Dance or Die" logo. XD

"HEY! YOU! YOU'RE BLOWING MY MIND AGAIN!"
It's the Solomon Olds action figure! Complete with karate-chopping-like movement! XD

"OUTTA MY SKULL!"
Solli's gone ape on us again. XD

"I feel my skin crawling offa my soul!"
And the apeishness continues!! Silly Soul Glow.

And now, the question is begged -- why not provide the video??
You gotta have a myspace account. Which I have. :P :P
Hopefully, I'll be able to view all 3 minutes and 41 seconds of the video in time. It was acting weird and only showed 51 seconds!! :O >:(

Oh, well.

Isaiah

The title is the same as the best song ever.

"Isaiah" is the name.
newsboys is the artist.
What's the album?
It'd be nice if someone could clear that up. (*coughowanmaybecough*)
Squizzy tells me it's from Devotion, but I don't believe him. :P

I mean it. It's the BEST song in the world.
THANK you, Jess, for donating this song to me so generously!!!!!!!!!!

Courtesy of the nb boards, here are the lyrics to Isaiah:

(Since most of the song is straight from the Bible, references have been included instead of the passages themselves)

Isaiah 40:28-31
whispered: "...so do not fear for the Lord is with ya."

Chorus:
Go ahead and thank Him for His power!
Go ahead and thank Him for His might!
Go ahead and thank Him for the victory!
'Cause He's given it to you tonight!

Lift Him up in the Great Assembly!
Lift Him up like the Word says you should!
Lift Him up - you're made to give Him glory!
Lift Him up 'cause the Lord is Good!
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Isaiah 49:8-9

Chorus

Isaiah 52:13-15
Isaiah 53:3-5
whispered: "...and by His wounds we are healed."

Chorus

See? Best song ever. :D :D

If you want it (*coughcoughtacogirlcoughcough*), tell me in your comment. ;)

Gaaaahhh...

For I think the first time, my faith has come under fire... Oi.

So, for all who are in the same situation as myself (and FOR myself as well), here is the lyrics to a Phil song which is helping me cope...

Take away everything I have.
Never change what You mean to me.
I won't be swayed by the ways of man,
What they say, or tell me to believe.

I WILL STAND STRONG, YOU CAN COUNT ON ME, LORD,
I WILL BE HERE!
NOTHING WILL SHAKE ME,
NO, NOTHING WILL PULL ME AWAY.

I am unshakeable!
I am unmovable!
You have called me by name,
And planted me here!
I am unshakeable!

I will live all of my days
Just to bring glory to You.
I will sing of my Redeemer,
Ever constant, ever faithful, ever true.

I'LL LIFT UP THE NAME
OF THE LORD MOST HIGH!
I WILL PRAISE YOU! I WILL!
OH, YOU HAVE DELIVERED ME,
AND YOU HAVE SET MY SOUL FREE!
SET MY SOUL FREE!!

I am unshakeable!
(I am unshakeable!)
I am unmovable!
(I am unmovable!)
You have called me by name
And planted me here!
I am unshakeable!

I am unshakeable!
(I am unshakeable!)
I am unmovable!
(I am unmovable!)
You have called me by name
(Called me by name!)
And planted me here!
I am unshakeable!

Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall,
But my Creator will rise above them ALL!
We'll not build on the temporary.
My hope is built on eternal love!
Eternal love, yeah.

I'LL LIFT UP THE NAME
OF THE LORD MOST HIGH,
AND I WILL PRAISE YOU!
FOR YOU HAVE DELIVERED ME!
IT WAS YOU WHO SET MY SOULD FREE!
YOU SET MY SOUL FREE!

I am unshakeable!
(I am unshakeable!)
I am unmovable!
(I am unmovable!)
You have called me by name
(Called me by name!)
And planted me here.
I am unshakeable!

I am unshakeable!
(It's a beautiful sound!)
I am unmovable!
(Moving through the crowd!)
You have called me by name,
(Voices lifted up,)
And planted me here!
(On high! On high!!)
I am unshakeable!

I am unshakeable!!

It's another song...

Hey! Acoustichick!! And netsirK, while I'm at it!
I have a song that might interest some of the little kids you two babysit. ;)

Surely, y'all know Phil Joel has a kid's album out, called deliberateKids. I've heard a portion of the opening track on KLove, considering that their morning show (Jon and Sherry Rivers in the morning) begin their morning show with part of the song (Jon, seriously, you need to quit singin' along... I'm glad you haven't sang along in a while. :p).
This song helps me get up in the morning SO much quicker. See, on the east coast, the KLove morning show begins at 6 AM... I get up at ten to 6 now... because my mom drives the bus and all. So I have TEN MINUTES to pile myself and anything my mom needs in the car in the car, start the puppy up, then happily sing along to that song. I think it's only about 15 or 20 seconds, but it made me fall in love with it the minute I first heard it and realized it was PHIL'S voice singing the song. :D :D

So anyways... the WHOLE song is approximately one minute and 55 seconds. It took me forever to work up the guts to listen to the whole thing. But I'm glad I did!!

You wanna hear the whole thing too, but don't have the album? Go here and press CONTROL, then the F key (for PC users... netsirK, you have a Mac, so I can't help you. :(). In the little box that appears, type in the title of the song: "Good Morning." ;) Trust me, you'll find it. And if you can't, go here.

Here are lyrics, just in case you wanna... well, y'know. :D

This is a morning like no other!
Never again will it be here!
So let's get movin',
Let's get goin'!
Don't let the daylight disappear!

Good mornin'!
(Good mornin'!)
Good mornin'!
(Good mornin'!)
Good mornin'!
(Goor mornin'!)
There will BE! NO! YAWNING!
(Ohhhkay...!)

Cuz IT'S!! A!!
Good, good, good, good, good, good mornin'!
It's a good, good, good, good, good, good mornin'!

A good, good, good, good, good, good mornin'!
It's gonna be a very good day!
Cuz You're a good, good, good, good, good, good God!
A good, good, good, good, good, good God!
A good, good, good, good, good, good God!
You are a very good God!

Let us remember
Why we are here today!
(Kids: Why??)
We are here to sing,
And we are here to praise!
(Kids: Who??)
Our God in Heaven,
So let me hear you say,

(Kids: YEAH!!)
He is our King,
And the Maker of today!

It's a good, good, good, good, good, good mornin'!
It's a good, good, good, good, good, good morning!

A good, good, good, good, good, good mornin'!
It's gonna be a very good day!
Cuz You're a good, good, good, good, good, good God!
A good, good, good, good, good, good God!
A good, good, good, good, good, good God!
You are a very good God!

Good mornin'!
(Good mornin'!)
Good mornin'!
(Good mornin'!)
Good mornin'!!
(Good mornin'!)

There will be. no. YAWNING!

Yah, you MUST be tired of seeing the word "good" right now. XD
But it's really upbeat, really cool. Hey, the mere MENTION of it gets me up in the morning!
So give it a try! It's fun!!

:)

Today be Sunday.
YAAAAAY!
And since it is Sunday, why not direct your attention to this GREAT song...

It's called "Jealous."
The song was created in 2005 by an EXCELLENT artist by the name of Phil Joel (ok, I'm biased, I admit, but he really is GOOD!). You have to love what he wrote about the song.

"If there's one song I want people to hear, it's this one."

Phil is an excellent songwriter, and if you think he doesn't have a heart for God, then you need to get out more. :p Kidding.
But really, you have to hear how powerful this song is to truly appreciate the beauty of the lyrics. It was worth all that time Phil says he put into this song to make it PERFECT. It certainly didn't go to waste, that's for sure.
If you wanna look for the album on eBay or Amazon, the album title is the deliberatePeople. album. Just like that! That's how you spell it! Lowercase "the," lowercase "deliberate," Captial "People," followed by that period, then lowercase album.

Check it out! For Phil! For God!!
